Dannijo R13 Launch at OWEN

This past Thursday, fashion followers gathered at the Meatpacking District's stylish boutique OWEN to check out the launch of Dannijo Resort 2013. Designer sister's (not sistas), Daneille and Jodie Snyder, showed off their newest Dannijo jewelry collection while guests drank cocktails made with Qui tequilla (some were just taking shots, #hautemess.)  Man Repeller's Leandra Medine hosted the event, looking great in denim on denim, mingling and taking pictures with OWEN owner Phillip Salem, DJ’s Timo Weiland and Alan Eckstein, and Dannijo founders Danielle and Jodie Snyder

Since we're over Louboutins...

The new 'It' shoe, Walter Steiger.  While you might be newish to these beauts, the exclusive tailored shoe atelier has been around since 1932 with stores in Paris, Milan, London and New York.

Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Victoria Beckham

Innovation has always been the core of Walter Steiger’s design, most notably the Steiger Claw. This shoe was originally created in the early 70s for Karl Lagerfeld’s Chloe runway presentation.

Steiger simplified the heel design, keeping the shoe’s silhouette parallel to your sole.  His curved heel makes you feel more stable when walking, so you are less likely to have scraped knees from a drunken tumble on NYC's meatpacking cobblestone.  You will look better going down though #HauteMess. The luxurious gold lining inside the shoe is another Walter Steiger signature. These haute heels are available at Walter Steiger Boutiques and Barneys New York.

Curved Heel Pump, $750

Perforated Ankle Boot, $1,295

Open Back Platform Pump, $1,210

Robert Marc. Chic. The end.

Luxury eyewear designer Robert Marc has just opened his fifth boutique on Madison Avenue (yes, he has five on the same street!)  The new store is located on Madison between 88th and 89th streets.  The elegant boutique reflects the Upper East Side neighborhood in which it resides. With Carrera tile floors, soft grey leather upholstered furnishings, and deep stained walnut fixtures you can clearly see Robert Marc clientele's discerning taste for highly tailored craftsmanship.  His new collection goes beneath the surface of the ocean interpreted with muted tones of purple, turquoise, and green.

The designer, Robert Marc, celebrated his new store opening with a sky high tower of Ladurée macrons and bottles of Moet & Chandon champagne.  In our opinion, the perfect afternoon snack.

Thanks Robert Marc for starting our afternoon buzz with some class.

The First It-Bag Turns 15: Fendi Baguette

Every Sex and the City girl (or gay) remembers the shocking moment Carrie came face to face with a savvy purse snatcher that wasn't just looking for loot, he was looking for labels.  "It's a baguette," Carrie corrected the mugger before he went too far and demanded she hand over her Blahniks.  WTF?!?  You don't take a girls sample sale find!

And they certainly remember when Samantha thought she too was robbed of her Baquette.  So what hers was a fake, who amongst us wouldn't have assumed that Playboy bunny was ALL fake?!  Poor Sam, escorted out of the Playboy Mansion, sans her new gold [fake] Fendi, while that damn bunny took her real iconic arm candy, the baguette, and went back to being Hef's arm candy.

Last week, Fendi celebrated 15 years of its very famous bag, (sorry, Baguette,) at their 5th avenue store.  The Fendi Baquette didn't just get to have a Quinceanera, it got a whole tell all written about it!  That's right, Fendi has released a new book, Fendi Baguette, (clever name Fendi, just sayin'.)
The party was packed with haute Fendi lovers, and fashion's faithful.  They clacked their way uptown, or rather rolled up in town cars, for a glass or three of champs and to view the special re-edition of six Vintage Baguettes.  Fashion's new fave it-girl, Hannah Bronfman, worked the turn tables looking super haute, while host's Hillary RhodaAnnabelle Dexter Jones and Byrdie Bell chatted it up and downed some drinks with guests from Harley Viera NewtonDerek Blasberg, Poppy Delevingne, and Genevieve Jones.

Happy Birthday, Baguette.  Next year maybe you'll get a Range Rover and not just a book.

Hot Mess or Haute Mess ?

"We need better things, not more.  We must not
pollute the world with meaningless, unused things when we can
make and support things of rare and precious beauty."
-Daphne Guiness

Sing it sister!  Daphne makes a good point.  We should be enjoying finer things!  I'd rather have one pair of Loubs (although I have a house account,) than 100 pairs of Candies.

I implore you, fashionable reader, to take a stance against overcrowding your chic lives with anything less than the best.  It doesn't have to be spendy, but it does have to fit into your stylish existence.

Use this blog as a quick fix to become a Haute Mess and not a hot mess.

Trust me, you’ll be a better person for doing so.
